Emmental is a firm cheese riddled with holes. It has a sweet aroma and a fruity, pungent flavour that is similar to Gruyere (both produced in the same region) and a texture that is firm, but pliable. Lovely used as a table cheese or paired with fruit, Emmental Swiss cheese is also a perfect fondue cheese because it is so easily melted.
